Fans of the TV series, ‘WKRP In Cincinnati’ were sad to hear the news yesterday that actress, Loni Anderson, has died just ahead of her 80th birthday. Reports claim she had being dealing with an ‘acute prolonged illness’. I didn’t know this, but the part of receptionist, Jennifer Marlowe on ‘WKRP’ was supposed to be a flighty/dingy blonde persona. Anderson took the role in the opposite direction not only with her beauty and charm but her intelligence. Interestingly though, Loni auditioned for the role of Chrissy Snow from ‘Three’s Company’ in which she would have played a ditzy blonde. The part would go to the late Suzanne Somers, who crushed it. When I think of Anderson, I also remember her short lived marriage to Burt Reynolds in the late 80s. Their divorce unfortunately dragged on for years and was the main focus for the tabloids.
