‘Give Peace A Chance’. That was a simple song with a simple message in John Lennon’s 1969 tune. Bryan Adams is planting the seeds of peace with his 2023 song, ‘What If There Were No Sides At All’. The description on his music video reads, This is an anti-war peace song written with aim to provoke thought and perhaps even encourage governments to sit down and talk peace. At the moment there is only escalating division and death – a result of the billions of dollars spent by governments to fund these endless wars. Obviously I like the message and I’m a big fan of the Canadian rocker, but…the video is depressing. I get it that Adams is painting the desolate picture of the destruction of war, but why not start with those images and then transition into what he would rather envision our world to look like. Harmony among countries, moments of kindness, you get the idea.
Bryan Adams will be here on Friday May 26th performing at Carb Day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
