So that’s why John Mellencamp and Bruce Springsteen were recently spotted together at a cafe in Indiana. The pair sang together on the song below, ‘Wasted Days’, which will be on Mellencamp’s upcoming album due out later next year. I like how they trade off singing parts of the song, but their voices together singing the chorus doesn’t flow as easy. They have such similar raspy voices. The song has that familiar Mellencamp feel to it and I can hear it being used in memorial videos. The lyrics are a bit of a downer: “How many days are lost in vain / Who’s counting down these last remaining years? / How many minutes do we have left?”
